Rebecca’s Story
In September of 2018, Rebecca was slowing down for traffic on the freeway when a distracted driver rear ended her car going at an estimated 70 miles per hour. Though she does not remember anything from the accident, she was told she was very lucky the car didn’t roll; that she could have been injured much more severely.
As a very independent person, Rebecca spent over a year managing the pain on her own. But it was debilitating, and kept her from many of her hobbies, such as sewing costumes and gardening, from working in a medical laboratory, and even from accomplishing simple life tasks. After many failed attempts through holistic alternatives, she finally accepted her attorney’s suggestion to go see Dr. Edwards.
In one of her MRIs, it showed that something was fractured. Dr. Edwards was upfront with her about her options as well as the risk factors. Though there was a slight risk to receiving a spinal fusion, Rebecca was desperate enough for pain relief that she decided it was worth the risk of having surgery.
Since her surgery, she is back to enjoying her daily life tasks, as well as returning to work.
She hopes that by sharing her story she can help others out there who may be dealing with the same type of pain. If they are trying to deal with it on their own as she did, she wants them to know there is help and Dr. Edwards is one of the best to give it.
