Neurosurgery | Nurse Practitioner

With a background in the U.S. Marine Corps and a deep commitment to service, Tyler Murray brings both discipline and compassion to his role as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Summit. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Utah Valley University, graduating summa cum laude, and completed his Master of Science in Nursing at Weber State University.

Before entering healthcare, Tyler served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was certified in Combat Lifesaver Support and deployed on a 13-month Civil Affairs mission to Fallujah, Iraq. His experience in high-stakes, high-pressure environments shaped his calm and grounded approach to patient care.

Since Summit’s founding, Tyler has been a cornerstone of its neurosurgical team—valued for his clinical excellence, clear communication, and unwavering respect for every patient.

Tyler and his wife are raising three children—a son and two daughters—and treasure time together as a family. Whether at home or in nature, Tyler’s dedication to his family reflects the same presence and care he offers in his clinical practice.

    Summit Conversations

    Fibromyalgia is a central processing disorder. As providers, we feel validation and education are powerful tools in the care of patients with fibromyalgia. Understanding that this condition amplifies pain in ways others might not experience is key to compassionate care.
